ANNOUNCEMENTS for May 16th 2016

Beginning TODAY, you will no longer be able to charge on your breakfast or lunch account. If you do not have money in your account or money to pay for your meal you will NOT be allowed to eat. We will pull lunch trays if you are negative.

All chalk art forms and money is due today.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE MEMBER OF THE PANTHER MUSIC DEPARTMENT ON A GREAT VARIETY SHOW WEEK AND PERFORMANCES!!! A SPECIAL THAT TO OUR FACULTY STAFF AND ADMINISTRATION THAT SUPPORTED US THROUGHOUT THE BUSY WEEK AND ATTENDED THE SHOW.

MISS SIMMONS IS SENDING A BIG THANKS TO ALL OF THE CAST WHO WORKED SO HARD ON THE LOAD OUT AND TEAR DOWN. EDDY AND KYLE AND THE GUYS FROM MAJESTIC WERE VERY IMPRESSED WITH YOUR WORK AND COOPERATION!!! GREAT SHOW!

Due to low participation numbers, the 6-on-6 Dodgeball Tournament scheduled for Satuday has been cancelled. However, we are still having dress up days this week for the US Wounded Soldiers Foundation. Those dress-up days are as follows:

TOMORROW - Twinsie Tuesday/Thrift Shop Day

Wednesday - Hats and Shades day/Sports Day

Thursday - Hawaiian Day/Space Day

Friday - Camo and MilitaryDay

You can pay $1 dollar each day to participate during the dressup days. The donations will be collected during 1st period all week.

Teachers can wear jeans each day for $2 per day or shorts for $3 per day.

All seniors need to see Mrs. O'Donnell in the library sometime this week concerning senior lunch

Sidewalk chalk art contest will be next Wednesday during periods 5,6,7. Entry forms are available from Mr. Bedel. The cost is $12 per a team of 4 persons. Forms are due by the end of TODAY.


All library books need to be returned by Wednesday, May 18th. All Reading Counts tests need to be completed by Friday, May 20th.

Calling all students!!!

Are you interested in being part of the Panther Tech Squad? Do you want to help make the first year of 1 to 1 a success? Do you have an interest in or knowledge in working with technology? Do you want to learn skills you can take with you when you graduate? Come join the Panther Tech Squad and work in the student help desk. We are looking to staff the student help desk with 2 students per period. Prospective students should be in good academic standing with a C or better average and be in good standing disciplinary wise. Should be able to commit to a couple days training this summer and weekly meetings after-school once a week. Current 7th graders can participate in the help desk in place of elective classes, 8th-11th graders can take help desk as a class for credit in place of another elective. Check the high school webpage under clubs and Organizations for Panther Tech Squad for a link to the application. Applications due Wednesday, May 18th.

Attention Graduating Seniors

Five-Star Technology Solutions is seeking a graduating senior who is interested in interning with Elwoods Technology Department. Applicant should be interested in or have a desire to learn about the management side of technology. Learn some skills you can take with you to college and/or into the workforce. Earn some extra money this summer. Position runs weekdays from July 25- August 12, 2016 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Position pays $8-$10 an hour based on experience. Become a part of the Elwood Triathlon Club!

10 week training program beginning Monday, May, 23rd and finishing as we cross the finish line of the Tri-Indy Olympic Distance Triathlon in White River State Park on Sunday, July 31st. Club is for anyone age 14 and above. If interested, please contact Mr. Austin in the Career Center.

The Business Department is pleased to announce the Max Hoppel Scholarship for Outstanding Business Student award for eligible Senior EJSHS students. This award is given to a student who took business-related classes and plans to major in a business subject area in college. If you are a Senior and wish to apply or have questions, please see Mr. Gibson in Room 106. Deadline to apply for the scholarship will be May 26th.
